Badge Attainment

The objectives of awarding proficiency badges to cadets are :

  • To sustain the cadets’ interest in the Corps and to instil in them the sense of striving to do well.
  • To show recognition of cadets’ achievements.
  • To encourage cadets to participate in more healthy activities.

ROAD SAFETY (formerly known as SAFETY FIRST)

This badge represents the Road Safety knowledge of the cadet. To achieve the badge, cadets need to undergo a course and do Road Marshalling at Road Safety Park at East Coast Park.

SWIMMING

This badge shows the swimming skills of the cadet. To achieve this badge, cadets must have a Bronze certificate at the National Swimming Survival Award.

CAMPCRAFT

This badge shows the knowledge of Campcraft of the cadet. To achieve this badge, cadets must pass the Theory test and Practical test.

MARKSMANSHIP

This badge shows the marksmanship of the cadet. To achieve this badge, cadets must attend two dry shoots and a live shoot, and get 60 out of 80 points in the live shoot at Home Team Academy at Old Chua Chu Kang Road.

CIVIL DEFENCE

This badge shows the Civil Defence skills of the cadet. To achieve this badge, cadets must attend a course at the Civil Defence Divisional Headquarters and undergo a test there.

SURVIVAL TRAINING

This badge shows the survival training of the cadet. To achieve this badge, cadets must attend Survival Training Camp at NPCC Camp Resilience, Pulau Ubin.

ADVENTURE TRAINING

This badge shows the adventure training of the cadet. To achieve this badge, cadets must attend Adventure Training Camp at NPCC Camp Resilience, Pulau Ubin.

SANA ANTI-DRUG

This badge shows the anti-drug and inhalant abuse knowledge of the cadet. To achieve this badge, cadets must attend the SANA course at Sengkang Community Centre, and undergo the test there, and complete a project.

LIFE-SAVING

This badge shows the lifesaving skills of a cadet. To achieve this badge, cadets must undergo a course.

CRIME PREVENTION

This badge shows the crime prevention knowledge of a cadet. To achieve this badge, cadets must undergo lectures by the unit, and undergo a test.

3rd CLASS DRILL / 2nd CLASS DRILL / 1st CLASS DRILL

This badge shows the drill skills of a cadet. To achieve this badge, cadets must take a Drill Badge test.

TOTAL DEFENCE (GOLD/SILVER/BRONZE)

This badge shows the Total Defence Knowledge of a cadet. To achieve this badge, cadets must undergo a test. To find out more about TD Badges, click here.

COMMUNITY SAFETY & SECURITY PROGRAMME

This badge shows that the cadet has Crime Prevention skills. To achieve this badge, cadets must organise a CSSP project within the school. Cadets must ALSO have Crime Prevention badge.

POLICE YOUTH AMBASSADOR

This badge shows that the cadet has Crime Prevention skills. To achieve this badge, cadets must have CSSP and Crime Prevention badges, and have conducted a Crime Prevention project outside the school.

POLICE KNOWLEDGE

This badge shows that the cadet has knowledge about Singapore Police. To achieve this badge, cadets must undergo the PK course at Home Team Academy.

BEST UNIT CADET

This badge recognizes the contributions the cadet has made to the unit, and his/her performances over the years. To achieve this badge, the OC Unit will have to judge.

SPF-NPCC AWARD

This is the pinnacle award for all cadets in Singapore. The award recognizes the best cadet in Singapore.

Requirements:

  • Secondary 4/5
  • Hold a minimum rank of Staff Sergeant.
  • Hold the following badges: Police Knowledge Proficiency Badge, CSSP Badge, PYA Badge, Crime Prevention Badge, Civil Defence Badge, Drill Badge (3rd class and above), and pass the NAPFA test (ie. A Minimum of Bronze is required)
  • Must have contributed to the unit
  • Attended events/courses by HQ
  • Conduct and Commitment is a MUST to attain SPF-NPCC Badge
